Vacancies for full time and part time qualified Social Workers (Dip SW or BA SW or MA SW) frequently arise in Children’s Services.
In East Sussex, children have a critical role to play in decision-making and the development of services. Sounds pretty obvious doesn’t it? But we practice what we preach. Children and young people from a range of diverse backgrounds are active in the service and we ensure the child’s point of view is fully represented. This is achieved through established user groups such as our Children in Care Council or the Youth Cabinet, both of which have had a significant impact locally and nationally. On a more individual basis we ensure that our most vulnerable children and young people have a say in decisions that will affect their lives. You’ll also experience their input first hand as they will play an active part in the selection of new staff.
This approach has contributed to our standing as the highest performing Children’s Service in the south east and one of the best in the country. And if you think East Sussex is all green fields and beautiful beaches, think again. In some parts of the County, child poverty is as high as 50%. So you can make a real difference here.
Bring your passion, your commitment and your skill, and we’ll show you Children’s Services how they should be, with the child at the centre of everything we do.
