Policy Officer – Operational Instructions for Children’s Social Care Services.

We are looking for an experienced children’s social worker to review and update our Operational Instructions for Children’s Services (OICS). There is a strong foundation on which to build but our OICS are need of updating to reflect recent changes in national and local policy and to incorporate learning from practice and Serious Case Reviews. The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced social worker with experience of working in statutory children’s services. You will have a sound understanding of the statutory framework that underpins social work practice, including the Public Law Outline – Guidance on Care Proceedings and statutory responsibilities for looked After Children; Common Assessment Framework (CAF), Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families and Working Together to Safeguard Children; Every Child Matters, Care Matters and multi-agency working. You will have excellent written communication and ICT skills.

The post is temporary until May 2010 or is available as a secondment opportunity. The salary for this post is dependent upon your qualifications and previous relevant experiance and will range from £35,270 to £43,401.
