Staffordshire University is a modern, progressive and forward looking organisation. Within the Faculty of Health we are keen to appoint a self-motivated, dynamic senior lecturer who is enthusiastic about taking Health Visiting education forward, and has extensive knowledge of current Public Health Nursing policy and practice.

You will have responsibility for developing and delivering Public Health Nursing lectures within the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing award and related programmes, including assessments. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to programmes related to the development of staff working within health visiting teams.

Registered on part 3 of the NMC professional register as a Health Visitor, you will be recognised as having a high level of experience in Public Health Nursing. With substantial post registration experience in this area, you will have successfully completed an NMC recognised teaching qualification or equivalent programme and have recent or current experience of mentoring and assessing students in practice. A higher degree in healthcare or a closely related subject is essential. A highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, you should be flexible and have excellent organisational abilities. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have an interest in the subject of leadership and/or who have additional public health or community nursing qualifications or experience.

This appointment is offered on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2014, either as an internal secondment or a new fixed term appointment, working 22.2 hours per week (0.6fte). This post requires an enhanced CRB check.
