Bournemouth University has a Research Development Unit which acts as a central service to support research activities across the University. Part of this support service is a successful internal peer review scheme and the opportunity has arisen for a creative and proactive Research Development Administrator to undertake reviews as part of this scheme and support its smooth running.
You will work across all Schools, reviewing research proposals in all disciplines, as well as maintaining relevant databases and paperwork. You will also be responsible for supporting the administration of the University’s Grants Academy initiative, a staff training initiative to support academics to prepare quality, fundable research proposals.
You will have experience of working in a busy office environment with an awareness of developing, maintaining and reviewing processes and procedures, compiling and analysing data to identifying trends, interpreting guidelines and providing advice and the ability to co-ordinate large, organisation-wide systems and processes. Ideally you will have knowledge of the research funding environment, funders and experience of reviewing and developing research proposals with good interpersonal and organisational skills plus a desire to make a difference.
