£19,554 to £21,379 per annum Ref 8162 Required as soon as possible. Cloughside College is a co-educational college providing education for young people admitted to the two adolescent units situated within the Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, on its Prestwich site. These two units come within the Young Persons’ Directorate. The College is a Group 2 (hospital) Community Special School, and is administered by Bury Children’s Services Department.
A vacancy has arisen to support pupils on a 1:1 basis or small group basis. You will be expected to bring a range of skills to assist with developing pupils’ academic abilities, reading abilities and general abilities in basic skills. The post is a key post in developing the provision for all the young people in our care. We wish to appoint a member of staff who will work professionally and collaboratively with the teaching staff to develop the interests and skills of all our young people. The hours of work are 32.5 hours, term time plus 5 professional activity days worked during periods of school closure, worked in accordance with service requirements. You must have relevant experience/knowledge of the role of a teaching assistant and be able to demonstrate this in your application.  Experience in a mental health setting in addition would be an advantage. You will be expected to undertake training and an induction programme.  Please ensure that you meet the person specification before applying.
