The School invites applications for a Lecturer in Petroleum Engineering with expertise in at least one of the following fields: Formation Evaluation / Drilling Engineering / Well Logging / Petroleum Refinery Operations. We seek a specialist to deliver teaching, support the management of the BEng (Hons) Petroleum Engineering course and contribute towards MSc course development.
You will be joining a forward looking, research and industry focused School with a strong international reputation in research and knowledge transfer activities.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate academic and professional petroleum sector expertise that will contribute to the further development of the BEng/MSc programme and support teaching, research and extension within the wider fields of petroleum and engineering sciences.
The duties for these posts include teaching at undergraduate level, with anticipated extension into postgraduate work in due course, supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects, laboratory work, research and scholarly activities and associated administrative duties.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research activities within the existing strong research culture as well as supporting the research-lead knowledge transfer agenda within the School aligned to short and long term objectives.
Candidates should possess a first degree and, preferably, a higher degree in Petroleum Engineering and/or Engineering Science and /or Geo-Science or similar disciplines, together with some petroleum sector work experience.
