Derby City Fostering and Adoption Service

Expanding opportunities and capacity to recruit more foster carers and adopters for Derby City Council.

We are determined to re-focus our recruitment strategy and have encouraging support to expand our current services.

We are looking for experienced social workers who have a particular interest in recruiting and assessing new foster carers and adopters.

We will offer you a well integrated, fully staffed, stable and experienced group of colleagues. Our Ofsted Inspection Reports are always positive. We are based in a dedicated Adoption and Fostering Centre where we hold our panels and training groups for carers. We have a dedicated training officer and carers and staff have easy access to specialist therapists and clinical psychologists.

Managers and social workers receive regular supervision and all staff are encouraged to contribute to providing high quality fostering and adoption placements in an atmosphere where change is possible and innovation encouraged.

Interviews for the Social Worker posts will be held on Friday 24 July or
Monday 27 July 2009.
