This is an exciting opportunity to join a pool of colleagues being established to provide high quality family support work in schools, supporting New Arrivals in particular, from nursery to the end of the primary phase.

Hours will vary according to demand. Bilingual Family Support Assistants in the pool will not have a contract but will be employed according to needs within the team. The purpose is to improve communication with identified families whose first language is not English, develop understanding of education provision and promote access to school places and integration into school life.

You will have good English language skills and be fluent in at least one other language. We are particularly interested in languages spoken by new and emerging communities from the Economic Union, but we would welcome applications from anyone who can offer a second or subsequent language to be part of ‘the pool’.
