Relief Residential Child Care Officer, Larchwood Short Break Unit

Hours:As and when required. Shifts will include evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and holiday/activity breaks away. 

Working pattern:Evenings, Nights, Part Time, Weekends, Permanent position 

Location:10 Portman Close, Bracknell, Berkshire

Larchwood provides a range of short break services including overnight and out of school care for children & young people who have a severe learning disability. The resource is central to the further development of services in Bracknell and we are looking to recruit relief staff to this skilled and committed team. Relief staff are required to work on an ‘as and when required’ basis, working casually to cover for staff members absent, (for example on training, sickness, leave etc.), outreach work and to cover short term vacancies, regular work is not guaranteed.

You will have a child care qualification and or relevant experience of working with children with a learning disability; you will be sensitive to the needs of children and their families and have effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals.
