The Family Centre is part of the Under 11’s Service, Children Social Care and is committed to preventing family breakdown by offering a range of family support and child protection services. Committed to providing high quality services you will be enthusiastic and creative and will share our aim of safeguarding children and promoting their welfare within their family and community.
As a Family Worker, you will be required to have experience of working with children and their families, a sound knowledge of child development, as well as an ability to work in partnership with parents/carers and other agencies. Good report writing, IT and communication skills and the desire to listen to and involve users in developing a quality service are crucial elements of the role.
We are proud of the progress we have made in developing our services to children and their families. We have established strong partnerships working with other agencies and are committed to enabling more children and young people to remain within their own families in the community.
We aim to maintain our high standards of practice and to achieve this, we provide: planned induction for newly appointed workers; regular supervision and professional development opportunities; caseload management system that makes for a manageable caseload and excellent training opportunities, including a commitment to NVQ training.
