Community Development Officer, Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT)

Based in our Substance Misuse Centre, close to the train station and town centre, you will have responsibility for working with commissioners, managers, staff, service users and carers in all of the local substance misuse services to develop service user and carer involvement in the planning, monitoring and delivery of drug and alcohol services.
You will also be responsible for supporting service user and carer groups to identify potential funding opportunities both locally and nationally, assist in the preparation of proposals and submissions to the benefit of service users and carers within the local area.
Ideal candidates should be IT literate and it would be desirable to have some knowledge or experience of the issues around substance misuse.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively at all levels, and prepare reports in respect of information gathered and progress against the Service User and Carer Development plan.
Fixed term contract until March 2010 with the potential of extension for a further year.
