This vacancy has arisen due to internal promotion. You will have a sound knowledge of relevant after care legislation, experience of supervision, excellent communication skills and an ability to relate to young people and advocate for them.
The team consists of eight qualified Social Workers, the majority of whom have worked for several years for Bracknell Forest. Staff are enthusiastic and committed to raising standards of practice. We are a dynamic, forward thinking 3 star authority and received a ‘good’ rating in our Joint Area Review 2007 with outstanding achievement in ‘making a positive contribution’ However, we still are striving for continuous improvement.
We aim to maintain our high standards of practice and to achieve this we provide; planned induction for newly qualified or newly appointed workers; regular supervision and professional development opportunities; a caseload management system that makes for manageable caseloads; excellent training opportunities, including the opportunity to complete PQ Award in Childcare.
Within Children’s Social Care, you will have a real opportunity to influence practice and develop innovatory ways of working with families and with communities, alongside our partner professional and voluntary agencies.
As a qualified and GSCC registered Social Worker you will need experience working with adolescents and their families, child protection and the care system.
Excellent peer support from the other Assistant Team Managers is available and all managers demonstrate an unwavering commitment to improve the life chances and outcomes for children.
