Financial Services is responsible for providing a comprehensive financial service for all areas of the Council’s operations, incorporating Accountancy, Payroll and Creditor payment functions. This post will enable the unit to meet that objective together with the changes facing Local Government over the next few years. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to provide valuable support to our Team and to widen your own range of skills and experience.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake system reconciliations, and to provide general assistance to the Accountants, Payroll and Systems Officers as and when required.
The requirements for the post are:
• 5 GCSE’s (Grade C or above) including Maths and English or a Certificate In Adult Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent are required for this post
• Candidates should be computer literate and have used various IT Systems including Word and Excel
• Be highly motivated and enthusiastic
• Experience of maintaining financial records
• An ability to communicate financial information to a range of people
• A flexible approach and the ability to work to strict deadlines
• Basic Knowledge of Accounting
